Aviator

Written by Chris Crovella

Riding down the highway, south on forty-nine
that cornbread's in the oven, hope I make it home in time
Flying down the highway, I'm smoking like a train
I'm not sure if I'll make it now, I'm broke down in the rain
Because I'm all out of gas, I'm all out of food
that cornbread sounded really good
I can't ever win, I'm bound to lose
I never shoulda bought a Ford,
Found on the roadside blues
Rolling down the highway, I heard that motor blow
and someone in the fast lane ran me off the road
Sitting on that highway, about to go insane
I stepped into a flatbed and it barely missed my brain
Because I'm all out of gas, I'm all out of food
that cornbread sounded really good
I can't ever win, I'm bound to lose
I never shoulda bought a Ford,
Found on the roadside blues
I get up off the asphault, when I awoke
I had a .44 pistol pointed at my nose
I grabbed that fella's pistol, and then I stole his dough
I hopped in his flatbed and I hauled it down the road
Because I'm all out of gas, I'm all out of food
that cornbread sounded really good
I can't ever win, I'm bound to lose
I never shoulda bought a Ford,
Found on the roadside blues
Because I'm all out of gas, I'm all out of food
that cornbread sounded really good
I can't ever win, I'm bound to lose
I saw blue lights, I grabbed my shoes
I turned around, headed to town
That cornbread cured my roadside blues

Won't settle down

Written by John Henry

The door has opened up and all the dirty little secrets living under the stairs are finally coming up and getting some air
but it's just our luck that dirty little secrets can kill with a single glance, If we're to have a fighting chance
                               then
What we need to do is not let them manipulate and
put us all under their spell, turn us all against ourselves
What do we have to lose if we don't let them propagate and feed us all their dirty lies, until that's all we have inside
                               well
I for one won't concede to be a helpless follower,
a silenced voice that can not be heard
I'll sing these songs at the top of my lungs
til' my voice gives out
no I won't settle down
Until the day my body goes in the ground

                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down
This machine in my hands, it can stir up quite a lot of commotion, whenever I get that notion
so I'll do all I can to let people know we don't have to live in the shadows, cause our dirty little secrets have someplace to go

I'll sing these songs at the top of my lungs
til' my voice gives out
no I won't settle down
Until the day my body goes in the ground

                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down

I'll sing these songs at the top of my lungs
til' my voice gives out
no I won't settle down
Until the day my body goes in the ground

                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down
                I won't settle down

Sacrifices

Written by Chris Crovella

She looked my way and smiled at me
Then I crawled along on the ballroom floor
Just to take another look for sure
A few months in we danced, we sinned
and we even know what the future holds
It didn't take long, she got a good job
and down the road she goes
But New York stole my babe away,
I'll be fine but I think I'll stay
She is so sweet the honey bees would hang around for days
and then I start to write her song,
when I turned around she's gone
Sometimes we have to make sacrifices and sing along
In my sleep, your eyes I see
Now both of us can chase our dreams
There's nothing left to do but stop and sing
Riding in the subway seems,
like it surely ain't the thing for me
I tried my best, tried to ride along
caught every stop between
But New York stole my babe away,
I'll be fine but I think I'll stay
She is so sweet the honey bees would hang around for days
and then I start to write her song,
when I turned around she's gone
Sometimes we have to make sacrifices and sing along

Never will i forget

Written by John Henry

Here we go again my friend in to the dark we ride
I know we will be standing when we come out on the other side
So here we go to face the storms, the dark clouds overhead
They will never bring us down, not you and I my friend
Never will I forget, forget what true faith is
It's moving down to Arkansas to play music with your friends
So never will I forget, forget what friendship is
It's being there for my brothers, time and time again
Here we go to face the hordes, they'll never cut us down
They can never be the ones to put us in the ground
We will live and we will fight and ride another day
I know we will be just fine because by your side I will stay
Never will I forget, forget what true faith is
It's moving down to Arkansas to play music with your friends
So never will I forget, forget what friendship is
It's being there for my brothers, time and time again
Never will I forget, forget what true faith is
It's moving down to Arkansas to play music with your friends
So never will I forget, forget what friendship is
It's being there for my brothers, time and time again

Ibuprofen & weed

Written by Chris Crovella

Having trouble finding all of my belongings
I slept in a puddle well into the morning
and finally, I found a friend indeed
who gave me ibuprofen and weed
I take a walk around down in shakedown ally
and I had to double-back it when I saw my neighbor Sally
She just looked at me, I know just what she needs
I gave her ibuprofen and weed
Having trouble walking with the devil on my shoulder
my friends all started clapping, we were on a roller-coaster
as we started gaining speed, I buckled at the knees,
and as it seems there may be something in the weed
The devil started laughing, on my shoulder he was poking me
and Sally started looking at the devil's ibuprofen
she said look at these, it isn't what you think
it wasn't ibuprofen or weed
I wanted ibuprofen and weed
I wanted ibuprofen and weed

Money tree

Written by Chris Crovella

I lived and died then I was born again
my second life began, I tried to make it better than I did before
another try, I get another go at making it
my pedal's to the metal, and I'm tearing off my tourniquet
but I stand tall, don't do what I am told
I'm living, and contemplating, one chance to save my soul
you're kidding, the choice is easy
give it all to me, glad to see that I finally found the
Money tree, money tree
take from thee and give to me
come on down and rest with me
lay right down by the money tree
Money tree, money tree
if I die, don't bury me
take my body out to sea
send me down with the money tree
Have social status but I lost my friends
lonely in the end, could I profit, would I even benefit?
I question life and purpose, what I have, and is it worth it
nothing gained and nothing earned, as far as I can see
but I stand tall, don't do what I am told
I'm living, and contemplating, one chance to save my soul
you're kidding, the choice is easy
give it all to me, glad to see that I finally found the
Money tree, money tree
take from thee and give to me
come on down and rest with me
lay right down by the money tree
Money tree, money tree
if I die, don't bury me
take my body out to sea
send me down with the money tree

sour mash

Written by John Henry

Well that sour mash is turning sour
and that sweet corn whiskey tastes too sweet
and I should probably give this old bottle a rest
but I haven't even gone blind yet
Well I should stop, three days ago
but now I can feel that whiskey deep down inside my bones
and if I have even one more tiny little drop
I won't ever be able to stop
Now it's been at least four more days
and I am so dry that I keep falling awake
my head feels like an empty shell
and my body feels like it's been through hell
There's only one way to stop this madness
that's to put that bottle to my lips and take a few sips
a few sips turns in to three or four
pretty soon the whiskey is gone and I'm gonna need some more
Well that sour mash is turning sour
and that sweet corn whiskey tastes too sweet
and I should probably give this old bottle a rest
but I haven't even gone blind yet
Well that sour mash is turning sour
and that sweet corn whiskey tastes too sweet
and I should probably give this old bottle a rest
but I haven't even gone blind yet
Well that sour mash is turning sour
and that sweet corn whiskey tastes too sweet
and I should probably give this old bottle a rest
but I haven't even gone blind yet

what can i say

Written by Chris Crovella

Troubled times, troubled mind, they find me every time
I'm drinking from the bottle, and I'm never satisfied
now they got me on the run, I'm a man without a gun
I never meant to lose control
Walk the line in single file, looks like I'll be gone a while
I traded in the bottle for a bag of homemade wine
and I think of what I could have been, will I make it home
and what have I become?
Will I ever learn my lesson
I'm doing time as I've already mentioned
I wish I was home helping you in the kitchen
singing a song because I know you would listen
Lost my control when they finally found me
counted up my reasons that I had to be happy
Got no use for drinking, so I forfeit the whiskey
ain't no better time to think about what I could have been
and what I have become, and who I should be
well what can I say
Will I ever learn my lesson
I'm doing time as I've already mentioned
I wish I was home helping you in the kitchen
singing a song because I know you would listen
Lost my control when they finally found me
counted up my reasons that I had to be happy
Got no use for drinking, so I forfeit the whiskey
ain't no better time to think about what I could have been
and what I have become, and who I should be
well what can I say
What have I become

Darlin's garden

Written by John Henry

If it comes from your garden darlin I'll eat it you better believe it
cause when you found me I was hard up and starving
your treatment is what I was needing cause
I was barely breathing
All the rotten fruit I've been growing has been showing signs of hard times ahead
So toss me in a coffin or teach me how to seed so I never go hungry
again
so I never go hungry again
If it comes from your garden darlin I'll eat it you better believe it
cause when you found me I was hard up and starving
your treatment is what I was needing cause
I was barely breathing
For a while I had my doubts but you saved me from this drought and now my crops are growing strong and tall
You worked this wretched ground, you tilled it up and down and now this garden it ain't mine at all
now this garden it ain't mine at all
If it comes from your garden darlin I'll eat it you better believe it
cause when you found me I was hard up and starving
your treatment is what I was needing cause
I was barely breathing
If it comes from your garden darlin I'll eat it you better believe it
cause when you found me I was hard up and starving
your treatment is what I was needing cause
I was barely breathing
